back burners

when you are busy things take a back seat, I have finished reading Numbers and would like to share with you the pictures or types of Christ...they are found in chapters 20 and 21 and is one of those "oh yeah, that's where that story is" moments.

It is the story of when the chosen people Israel are wandering in the desert and begin complaining because there was no water. They were so embittered against Moses and Aaron that they wished the could have died back in Egypt.

The type of Christ is found in chapter 20 verse 10- "Then Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock and he said to them, 'Hear now, you rebels: shall we bring water for you out of this rock?' And Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock with his staff twice, and water came out abundantly and the congregation drank and their livestock." The type of Christ is the rock that brings forth water for life.

The second story is not far from this story and is just after Aaron has died, the Israelites begin complaining about Moses and this time God. They begin complaining about the food God provides them to eat, so God sends fiery serpents that begin to bite the Israelites and some of them die. The Israelites begin to cry out to God and Moses to do something about the serpents. Moses goes before God and from here I will quote the Bible...
The second type of Christ is in chapter 21 verse 8- "'Make a fiery serpent and set it on a pole, and everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.' So Moses made a bronze serpent and set it on a pole. And if s serpent bit anyone, he would look at the bronze serpent and live." The type of Christ is the bronze serpent on a pole.

Like the bronze serpent on the pole brought life to those Israelites bitten by a serpent we too can have life after being bitten by the serpent of sin. As we look to Christ on the cross we continue in the story of his burial, resurrection and ascension into Heaven and can know that we have life.

I hope you have enjoyed your time with your morning devotions and if you want to continue on with me and my readings I am in Hosea, this is an interesting book in the Bible but the symbolism is quite evident. If you don't remember what Hosea is about, verse two lays it all out there. I am currently on chapter 10 and like I said at the beginning some things take a back burner like blogging.

Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year!
Peace of Christ to You!

fonts or templates

for some reason the font I have been using or the template I am currently using does not allow for capital letters, which after reading a couple of my previous blogs occurred to me when I was reading God as god. as a Bible teacher I usually correct this mistake on my students papers and here I am nearly doing the same thing, so be looking for a new template or font type from me. that is all.

PS. in the off chance that Murphy's Law goes into effect and the capitalization of words is correct then I don't know what to think.
